The Druid Inn is beginning an exciting new chapter under the stewardship of Trefor Owen, a familiar face to many regulars. Trefor has been part of The Druid team since 2020 and knows just how special this pub is to the village and its visitors. With a real passion for the place and its community, he is delighted to be helping bring the doors back open once again.

Like many pubs across the country, running a traditional food-led establishment has become increasingly challenging in recent years, with significant rises in business rates, utilities and other operating costs. For that reason, the decision has been made to reopen with a slightly reduced capacity and a simpler offering for the time being, allowing the business to operate sustainably and keep The Druid open for everyone to enjoy.

We would also like to recognise the support of Stanton Estate, who have been incredibly helpful throughout this process. There have been stories suggesting otherwise, but claims of extortionate rents are simply untrue. The Estate worked hard to keep the pub operating, but with much-needed renovations planned for the future it was not possible to continue absorbing ongoing losses. These steps are about protecting The Druid and ensuring it has a strong and secure future.

Visitors will still see some familiar faces behind the bar, ready to welcome everyone back. Over the coming weeks our full range will gradually be installed and expanded, but for now the most important thing is that The Druid is open again – and we’re looking forward to seeing the pub come back to life.
